247 Days

Following the critically acclaimed An Act of Now, Chunky Move Artistic Director, Anouk van Dijk continues her intimate and forensic exploration of the dynamics of human interaction, with the world premiere of 247 Days. How do we view the world? How does the world view us? Do we behave as expected, or accept who we truly are? And, if we could observe ourselves in an unguarded moment, what would we see?

Recombining forces with Composer, Marcel Wierckx and Lighting Designer, Niklas Pajanti, 247 Days also reunites the sublimely physical An Act of Now dancers, Leif Helland, Lauren Langlois, Alya Manzart, Niharika Senapati, and James Pham, with the addition of Helpmann-nominated dancer, Tara Soh. Rounding out the creative team will be Set Designer, Michael Hankin and Costume Designer, Shio Otani.

Presented in conjunction with Malthouse Theatre and as part of the 2013 Dance Massive Festival, Van Dijk transported her vigorous physical language to the Merlyn Theatre, exposing not only the dancers, but also the audience, to an experience that is exposing and revelatory.
